针推学院是学校开展国际交流和对外教育较多的部门，教师出国访问学习和外派的机会也比较多。结合针推英语七年制专业教育的需要，为了提高青年教师英语能力，更好地普及和开展双语教育工作，亦为了培养新一批对外交流人才，学院在本学期尝试开展 “青年教师英语讨论周会”，每周一个中午，以全英语讨论的形式，为学院的青年教师创造一个既能开口说英语又能交流专业知识的良好平台。 每次的周会，由主讲人预先设定一个主题，并提前一周将主讲的内容和问题分发给大家以供预习。这样，每次的讨论会大家都能有备而来，有利于积极参加讨论。讨论的主题以专业内容为主，如第一次就是由经络腧穴教研室的 为了提高交流的水平，每次周会邀请一名学院里英语好的教授来参与，有了他们的带动和指导，使讨论会的质量更有保证。万事开头难，在学院领导的支持和全体教师的参与下，我们一定会积极推动英语讨论会的开展，并将之持之以恒地进行下去。同时，非常欢迎英语好的同学，特别是外籍同学一起参与，一起提高和进步。 Our English Seminar The School of Acupuncture and Tuina, a department which has made much more international communication and external education in Shanghai University of TCM, provides teachers a lot of opportunities to visit and study aboard. In consider with the need of education for the seven-year required students who are specialized in English course and Acupuncture and Tuina, the School tries to carry on Young Teachers English Weekly Seminar from this term on, in order to improve those young teachers’ English ability for popularizing and progressing bilingual education work better, as well as to cultivate a new batch of teachers with ability for communication with foreigners. One noon every week, and in the form of talking completely in English, the seminar creates a proper platform where the young teachers can not only speak in English but also communicate with each other about their professional knowledge. Every week, the seminar has a theme set by a keynote speaker in advance, who will distribute the main contents and questions of the lecture to everybody for previewing one week before. Thus, every teacher can prepare for it and take an active part in the seminar. Its theme is mainly about professional contents. For example, the first lecture is about the function of sodium-potassium pump in the influence of acupuncture analgesia made by teacher Deng haiping in teaching and research section of meridian and acu-point. The teachers in the seminar are from the same School but different teaching and researching sections, so they focus on different fields of the professional knowledge, and rarely have chances to communicate with each other about their work. The English seminar gives us a chance to view everyone’s work, and enrich each other’s knowledge. What’s more, we can be inspired by the keynote speaker to expand our own scientific research thinking. When we are practicing our spoken English, we can also learn a lot of English specialized vocabularies in medicine. There will be one professor who is good at English invited to take part in each seminar, in order to improve communication standard. It will guarantee the quality of the seminar under those professors’ promotion and guidance. Though everything is difficult when it begins, we are definite to promote the development of English seminar actively with the support of School leaders and the participation of all the teachers, and persevere in carrying it on. At the same time, we are glad to see the students who are good at English come with us to improve ourselves and progress together, especially the foreign students. |
