Expressing Kindness with Professional Medical Qualifications ――a Visit to the Classroom of Foot Reflection Massage by Yu Zhengsheng and other Leaders In the morning of Feb. 13th , Shanghai Party Secretary Yu, Municipal Committee, Mayor Han Zheng, the party secretary and the chairman of the China Disabled Persons' Federation Wang Xinxian and other leaders attended the closing ceremony of Life Sunshine Pavilion of 2010 Shanghai World Expo. During the ceremony, they joined in the classroom of Qin Yuan who teaches in Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, School of Acupuncture and Tuina. After listening to the basic courses of the class about the health massage on the reflex zones of the foot , Secretary Yu showed appreciation and pointed out that the market of foot care massage could be large. Secretary Yu also encouraged people to learn and acquire vocational skills for social services. In recent years, School of Acupuncture and Tuina of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine together with Shanghai Labor Service Center for the Disabled established national occupational skills training courses for being health care masseur and foot reflection masseur for those who are visually impaired and people with intellectual disabilities. The training centers are located in the Changning District , Songjiang District, and the Pudong New Area, and have trained more than 700 people with disabilities to be junior, intermediate, or senior massage practitioners and foot reflection masseur with professional qualifications, which has promoted the employment of people with disabilities in Shanghai and contributed to a harmonious society. |
